Board of Directors
Janet Macarthur
President & Founder
Janet is passionate about JESUS and about reaching nations for Christ.
Before missions, she started a chapter of Women’s Aglow and was President for five years, in which time many were saved, filled with Holy spirit and delivered.
In 1987 Janet received training for mission work at Gwen Shaw’s International School of Ministry, Jasper Arkansas.
Mission work began in 1990 with a prayer team of 75 which traveled to China with Nora Lam. The movie “China Cry” was based on Nora Lam’s life. In 1991 the Lord opened a door to go to several countries on a 3-month trip. This began her journey into a new career in missions. She now has been doing full time mission work by organizing and leading short term mission trips for over 34 years in 37 nations so far.
Between 1995 – 1996 she spent one year in Nigeria, Director and teacher in a Bible school, preaching all services in the church, starting an annual pastors’ conference, opening a Spiritual Clinic, and ministering in many states in Nigeria. That year 7 additional churches were planted. During that time Janet realized she would need credentials to fulfil her call to the nations.
She received a Master’s and Doctoral Degrees in theology and ministry at Shalom Bible College and Seminary, Des Moines IA, also specific mission training at Youth With A Mission (which included a 2-month outreach to Jamaica), and Calvary International, Jacksonville FL (now Go To Nations). With permission, Janet has taken the best training from all these resources to write curriculum and manuals to train pastors and missionaries throughout the world.
The passion and vision the Lord has given her is to see especially unreached nations reached for Christ. In 1996 the Lord led her to start Good News for the Nations, Inc as a ministry vehicle for this task. She has been led by divine appointments to teach and train on missions in churches, conferences and on the mission field and has written a book “Sow Yourself into the Nations”.
In 1997, led by Holy Spirit, Janet took a position as Missions Director at White Horse Christian Center, W. Lafayette IN. Over 400 teams were taken out in 8 years. Teams (including youth/children teams) did conferences, teaching, medical, construction, evangelism, revival, etc.
In 2003, the Lord released Janet to continue with Good News for the Nations focusing specifically on mission schools to teach, train, and give vision to churches in the USA and the nations. Churches and congregations in many nations have been inspired, trained and released into mission work; starting orphanages, churches, digging wells, feeding the poor, giving medical help going to unreached areas and winning whole tribes to the Lord.
In this season, Janets vision and desire is to see churches everywhere have in the DNA of each member, the great commission, which has been given as the supreme task of the church.
Janet is ordained through Shalom Bible College Des Moines IA and her home church, White Horse Christian Center, W Lafayette IN. Janet was married for 20 years and has 2 sons with families including 4 grandsons.

John Voisine
In 1974, I received Jesus as my Lord and savior when He showed me His love and grace and gave me His peace. God placed a desire in my heart to know Him and live for Him, and to help others do the same. He has blessed in many ways. In 1976 He gave me a godly wife, Cheryl, a true gift from the Lord and a blessing I cherish. He gave us 3 godly children, a son and 2 daughters, who now have families of their own with 5 grandchildren. My wife and I attend church regularly and have been at Covenant Church (Evangelical Presbyterian) for over 15 years. The Lord has given many opportunities in various churches for teaching adult classes and in speaking.
I have been with Good News For the Nations as Vice President and Secretary since 2003 and have gone on short term mission trips to the Lac Courte Oreilles Reservation in Wisconsin, and the Oneida Reservation in Ontario. In 2023 I joined a team of 6 for two weeks in Uganda which ministered in several churches in Kampala and southeast Uganda. In 2024 I was invited to speak and minister at a convention held in western Uganda. Additionally, since May of 2022 I have had the opportunity to minister weekly online with teaching and prayer through Forerunners Ministries International, a ministry founded by Paul Mbahmaz in Kampala Uganda.
God gives a promise according to Psalms 1 that if we delight ourselves in the law of the Lord and mediate on His law day and night, that we will be like a tree planted by the streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither, and in whatever we do we will prosper. Time and again I’ve witnessed the Lord’s hand involved in my career helping to overcome challenges and to bring success. I graduated from Michigan Technology University in 1975 with a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering and have worked in the electric utility industry for close to 50 years as a research engineer and product development manager. I hold 46 patents, participate on several committees in developing industry standards, published papers with the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) and with the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE). I have been a guest lecturer at Purdue University and a member of their Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology Industrial Advisory Board for many years.
I testify of God’s faithfulness in making all grace overflow to us, so that, always having all sufficiency in everything, we may have an abundance for every good deed. (2 Cor 9:8)

Sheila Wachtel
I grew up in a divorced family that presented many challenges and struggles. I met Jesus around the age of 6-7 years old. This, along with a Godly grandmother, made a significant impact in my life; however, I did not completely commit my life to Jesus and begin the journey with Jesus Christ until March 1986. I have served in various capacities in church from nursery, youth, to leadership. Currently I serve on the board as the Secretary of Awakening Christian Center and to assist with leading Sunday services when the Pastor is gone. I also serve on the board of Good News for the Nations.
I have a BSBA with MIS, a MS in Network Security, and an Associates of Biblical Studies along with many related certifications. I have work experience in the several fields, as a business CEO/President in telecommunications, an entrepreneur, farming, an IT tech, a network security engineer, and in education at the university level.
My husband of 23 years and I have five grown children between us and twelve grandchildren. We have had the privilege of working/training with Dr. Janet MacArthur for over three years. This has allowed us to travel to many nations to teach, train and equip pastors and leaders in raising up followers of Jesus Christ.

Ed Wachtel
Ed was born into a strong and stable family on September 2, 1945. After a normal and healthy childhood, he was blessed to obtain college degrees and spent nearly 50 years working in public education from elementary school to the university level. He and his wife, Sheila, also spent many years working a small family farm in addition to their regular employment.
Since his rededication to Christ in 1999 he has had many roles in serving and leading in various church settings. He is currently a board member and treasurer of Awakening Christian Center in Mount Gilead, OH. He also serves as a board member for this organization, Good News for the Nations.
While training with Dr. Janet McArthur at GNFN he and Sheila have had the opportunity to preach and teach in Malawi, Uganda, Zambia, India and Nepal.
Because of these experiences Ed has garnered a wide range of academic, practical and discipling skills. He looks forward to many more years of using these skills to further the Great Commission.
